Shane Wheatley

	Shane Wheatley, 36, of Valier, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at Andy's Creek in Valier, Ill.
	Mr. Wheatley worked at Orpack Stone in Herrin.  He was a disabled Army veteran and spent one year in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Valier.  He was also a member of D.A.V., N.R.A. and Sesser V.F.W.
	He was born December 13, 1965 in DuQuoin, the son of Richard W. and Janice I. Wheatley.  He married Frankie Shurtz on July 6, 1990 in Wickliffe, Ky. and she survives.
	Surviving are his children, Arielle Wheatley and John Wheatley, both of Valier; father, Richard W. Wheatley; brothers, Johnnie (Cruddy Buddy) Wright of Tampa, Fla. and Jimmy Wright of Sesser; caring and loving aunts, uncles, mother in law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces & nephews, friends and their dog, Follow.
	He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents.
	Funeral services were Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser with Harl Ray Lewis officiating.  Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser.
	Visitation was after 6 p.m. on Saturday at Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser.
	In lieu of flowers, donations to an educational fund for the children at the State Bank of Whittington.
